Jose is a proud advisor to the United Nations Millennium Ecosystem Assessment, which explored planetary health and its trajectory toward 2050. Currently, he is the founder of 2050 Life Investments and works on Research & Development initiatives with pioneering organizations such as The World in 2050, Made in Hemp, RestoreCoral, Seastainable Ventures, Azolla, Terrasos, and others. As a co-founder of ClimateCoin and ClimateTrade, his efforts are dedicated to advancing sustainable finance and climate solutions.

As an impact investor and co-founder of B Corporations, Jose has cultivated expertise in Planetary Health and the principles of Justice, Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (JEDI). His academic journey includes studies in Gemology and multiple MSc programs (unfinished) in Public Policy, Natural Resource Management, and Corporate Social Responsibility, shaping a unique skill set that balances environmental acumen with a deep understanding of politics and corporate dynamics.

Throughout his career, Jose has advised the United Nations, corporations, NGOs, and governments on mitigating and adapting to climate change. Notably, he contributed to the Plant for the Planet: Billion Tree Campaign by UNEP, where he collaborated with Nobel Peace Prize laureate Wangari Maathai to advocate for global reforestation. Together, they highlighted the staggering potential of 3 trillion trees to offset a decade of anthropogenic CO2 emissions.

Driven by an innate curiosity and an optimistic mindset, Jose has embraced emerging technologies such as Augmented and Virtual Reality, Artificial Intelligence, IoT, and Blockchain to create innovative solutions. These tools have helped amplify communication, visibility, and funding for Breakthrough, Innovative, and Game-Changing (BIG) climate projects.
